Dakota Ranch has been running since 2013 and was birthed with the passion and love that the Busschau family have for animals and nature.

When the COVID pandemic hit, the once hobby-only pastime of pony outrides, party venue and nature hikes, stepped off of the sideline and onto the beck and call of a new adventure.
One that was of dire need for the care and protection of the horses and other farm animals on the ranch.
In 2019 the Adventure Centre was only talked about, and today the zip-line is fully operational, with a natural rock-climbing wall soon underway.

Dakota Ranch aims to bring locals more in touch with nature where they can spend more quality time with family and friends.

Crazy Dave, a well-known name in Mbombela, also runs team-building and motivational workshops from the ranch.

Visitors to the ranch can also conveniently inquire about day tours and safaris available from Kruger and More Safaris, as well as prolong their stay, either by enjoying the outdoors and camping out on the ranch, or for those who prefer a little more creature comforts, sleeping over at Old Vic Traveler's Inn, the oldest and most established backpackers in Mbombela (with over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry).

There is also a 20m x 60m sand arena on the ranch, for those who wish to bring their equestrian companions and rent the arena on a per hour basis.
